Unifund CCR Partners, LLC v. Client (Supreme Court, Westchester County (2020))

Client was served with a Summons by Unifund CCR Partners, LLC which had purchased a defaulted Citibank credit card account with a balance over $15,000.  Unifund CCR Partners, LLC proceeded to file suit in the Supreme Court of the State of New York, County of Westchester.  Client retained Roderick D. Woods, P.C.  Attorney Roderick D. Woods filed a Notice of Appearance and Demand for the Complaint, and, when appropriate, an Answer with Affirmative Defenses.  Unifund CCR Partners, LLC filed a Motion for Summary Judgment.  Attorney Woods was able to negotiate a reduced balance settlement which not only saved client several thousand dollars, he prevented a Judgment from entering against client.

Synchrony Bank v. Client (Civil Court of the City of New York, Bronx County (2024))

Client was served with a Summons by Synchrony Bank, alleging a balance due and owing of over $4,000.  Attorney Woods was able to negotiate a discontinuance of the action, with client paying nothing.  

Velocity Investments, LLC v. Client (Supreme Court, Wayne County (2025))

Velocity Investments, LLC brought suit against Client in the Supreme Court, Wayne County.  Velocity filed an Affidavit of Service indicating that it had served client at the client's usual place of abode.  However, client had previously relocated to California.  Because the action would have been vulnerable to a Motion to Dismiss under CPLR 3211, Attorney Woods was able to negotiate a discontinuance of the action, with the client paying nothing.
