Unifund CCR Partners, LLC v. Client (Supreme Court, Westchester County (2020))
Client was served with a Summons by Unifund CCR Partners, LLC which had purchased a defaulted Citibank credit card account with a balance over $15,000. Unifund CCR Partners, LLC proceeded to file suit in the Supreme Court of the State of New York, County of Westchester. Client retained The Woods Law Firm, P.C. Attorney Roderick D. Woods filed a Notice of Appearance and Demand for the Complaint, and, when appropriate, an Answer with Affirmative Defenses. Unifund CCR Partners, LLC filed a Motion for Summary Judgment. Attorney Woods was able to negotiate a reduced balance settlement which not only saved client several thousand dollars, he prevented a Judgment from entering against client.
